BURKO, Sam
Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, March 21, 2015, in his eighty-third year. Beloved husband of DeDee (Edith) Burko. Devoted and cherished father and father-in-law of Aura Burko and David Kaplan, Benjamin Burko and Melanie Litwin. Stepfather of Lawrence Litwin and Fabiola Metellus. Proud Zaidie of Aiyana, Amanda and Marie; Jordan and Aliyah. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Elinor and the late Howard Goldsmith, Alegria and the late Lou Burko, the late Mary and the late Isaac Rocklin. Special uncle of Cheryl Goldsmith, the late Paul Goldsmith, Brian Rocklin and Romy Schnaiberg, Dr. Benjamin Burko and Donna Litvack. Sam will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. Special thanks to his caregiver, Lydia, and to the doctors, nurses and staff of 6W at the Jewish General and Mount Sinai Hospitals for their care and devotion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Shaare Zion Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield.
