KOENIG, Mort
Peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at the age of 86. Husband of the late Henza Taiger. Devoted father and father-in-law of Lynda and the late Simon Shayer, Fran and Frank Bilmes, Sharon and Bill Miller. Proud grandfather of Steven Shayer, Lauren Shayer and Michael Gerstel; Matthew Bilmes and Jill Selick, Stewart Bilmes and Ariella Arazi; Zack, Mel, Kevin and Jaye Miller. Loving great grandfather of Ethan, Justin and Jack. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Myra and Bernie Frost, and brother-in-law of Chubby and Hy Tolchinsky, Sheldon Taiger. Will be sadly missed by Florence Goodman and remembered by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. Heartfelt thanks to his devoted caregiver and friend Merlita. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful staff of the fifth floor at Maimonides. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W. on Sunday, January 24 at 12 noon. Burial at Beth Zion Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva at 5820 Shalom, Cote Saint-Luc, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. daily.
