October 31, 1917 -- May 26, 2016
Formerly of Montreal, daughter of the late Abraham and the late Shifra Parnass. Wife of the late Joseph Katz. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Myrna Macy and Hy Beckenstein of Toronto, Brenda Frost Bratman and Jerry Bratman of Boca Raton, Florida. Adored grandmother of Mark and Darlene Macy, Douglas and Shayna Macy, Jodie and Neil Moss, Billy and Kay Macy; Darren Frost, Joanna and Dean Golden. Proud great-grandmother of A.J., Quinn, Aaron, Sam, David, Harrison, Brodie, Taylor, Jacob, and Katie. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Fruma and the late Rudy Appotive of Ottawa, and predeceased by her other siblings and their spouses, Ruth and Moe Steinberg, Molly and Morrie Wiseman, Beryl (Pookie) and Sam Gold, Reba and Irving Morton, Teddy and Ann Parnass, Sheva and Joe Appotive. Sister-in-law of Sybil and the late Mike Katz of Palo Alto, California. Esther will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., Montreal, on Sunday, May 29 at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Beth Zion Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva at Myrna and Hy's home, 99 Spadina Rd., Richmond Hill, ON L4B 2Y9.
