BATSHAW, Ruth (nee Schleien). Peacefully, on Thursday, August 17, 2006. Beloved wife of Manny Batshaw, the late Arthur Berke and the late Larry Heller. Devoted mother of Jordan Barak of Israel, the late Irene Berke. Cherished "Mama" of Alyssa, Nick and Josh Bleser; Leehee and Ofir Barak. Sister of the late Bernie and the late Sam Schleien. Dear sister-in-law of Evelyn and Rae Schleien, Lil Goldberg. Sadly mourned by Manny's children and grandchildren: Mark and Karen Batshaw, Michael and Natasha Batshaw, Elissa and Bryan Claire, Drew and Amy Batshaw, and great-grandchildren Benjamin Claire and Julian Batshaw. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special thanks to Cathy Regis and the caring staff of CLSC Rene Cassin, to Carolle and the VON. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Dworkind and the staff of Herzl Clinic, Jewish General Hospital, to Dr. Golda Tradounsky, Belle Maclan and the staff of Palliative Care, Mount Sinai Hospital for their care and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. on Sunday, August 20 at 1 p.m. Burial at Beth Zion Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Bfld. Shiva at 5900 Armstrong Ave. #308, C.S.L. through Monday evening, continuing with family in the Eastern Townships.
