SHADOWITZ, Gertrude (Gertie) (nee Cohen). Peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, November 10, 2003. Beloved wife of the late Sam. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Mel and Evelyn, Larry and Sandy, Joanne and Marvin Granek, and the late Tryna and Richard Rotholz. Cherished Bubbie of Steven and Susie, Gail and Jim, Betina and Michael, Melinda, Michael and Amy, Matthew and Shari, Rena, and Justin. Great grandmother of eight. Dearest sister and sister-in-law of Hymie and Adele Cohen, Rhea and the late Tommy Cohen, the late Goldie and the late Moe Faigan, the late Nellie and the late Abie Climan. Sister-in-law of the late Bertha Sculnik Covens and the late Issie Sculnick, the late Joe and the late Ethel Shadowitz, the late Tillie and the late Joe Derman, the late Max and the late Betty Shadowitz, the late Minnie and the late Moe Labenshon, the late Benny and the late Bella Shadowitz. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon West on Wednesday, November 12 at 11:30 a.m. Burial at the Congregation Chevra Kadisha Cemetery, Berri St. Shiva private. The family would like to thank her companion Jean Joseph and the Staff of 2 North at Maimonides for their loving care.
