It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful mother at home, on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at the age of eighty- nine. Devoted wife and best friend of the late Maurice (Moishe) Gelber. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Sheila and Dr. Moe Sutton, Clarence and Mona (Cobrin). Proud and adoring grandmother of Edward and Natalie Sutton; Ross, Robert, and Michelle Gelber. Predeceased by her dear siblings and their spouses, Phyllis and Louis Richler, Aubrey and Sonia Bank; by Moishe's siblings and their spouses, Rose and Louis Reiber, Nathan and Sylvia, David and Sadie, Greta and Manuel Rubin, Samuel, Shprintza and Abe Chasin, and those who perished in the Holocaust. Renee will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care and respect given by Dr. Pnina Wasser and Dr. Joan Zidulka, as well as the nurses and staff at St. Mary's Hospital. Graveside service on Friday, February 12 at 1:30 p.m., at the B'nai Jacob Congregation Section, Back River Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Lajeunesse St. Shiva at 633 Belmont Ave., Westmount, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily.
