Our honourable and glorious teacher and Rabbi, Yehudah Yudel, the son of our teacher and Rabbi Yisrael Yitzhak, a descendant of Rabbi Yehudah the Chassid, of the Rosenberg family, Rabbi and head of the Rabbinical courts in Poland and in our city of Montreal. Obituary | He died after a short and severe illness. He grew up in Skorysh, Ukraine. He was a Judge in Warsaw, then Lodz. In 1912, he was appointed Rabbi in Toronto and latter moved to Montreal. He come from a much honored rabbinical family descendants of Rabbi Yehuda the Chasid. His grandfather was Rabbi Jacob Koppel, author of 'Shaarei Gan-Eden' or 'Gates of Eden'. His sons includes 2 rabbis, 1 shochet, and 1 well-known dramatist. A prolifoc scholar and author. Translated the Zohar into Hebrew, so all could read it. A folklore scholar. Funeral from home to Russian-Polis Hadras Kodesh; then to Adath Yeshurun Shul. |

Document Radom Birth Record from JRI-Poland.org. Translation: Birth Akt 104, 1860, Radom, Poland. It happened in the town of Radom on December 19th/31st, 1860, at 3 p.m. It appeared Izrael Icek Rozenberg, a cattleman in the village of Gębarzów, 43 years old, and in the presence of witnesses Chil Abrament, 43 years old, and Mosek Finkielsztejn, 58 years old, both synagogue servants, residents of the town of Radom, and showed us a child of a male gender and declared that it was born on 12th/24th day of current month and year, at 11 p.m., as a son of his wife Maryia-Gitla nee Cygielman, 35 years old. During the ceremony of circumcising the child was given the name Judka. Then the act was read and signed by the witnesses. Father illiterate. | |
