SHAFFER, Tillie. It is with profound and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Tillie on April 10, 2006 at the age of ninety-four years. She died peacefully surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. Daughter of the late Chaim and the late Chana Golda Zitner. Beloved wife for 57 years of the late Max Shaffer. Deeply loved and cherished mother of Gloria and Allan Tannenbaum, Elaine and Michael Malus, Brenda Shaffer, Vivian and Julius Wroblewski. Treasured Bubby of Elyse and Leonard, Rhonda and Ian, Caroline, Beth and Lee, Eli and Natalie, Shem and Elena. Great Bubby of Megan and Hannah. Dearest sister of the late Moe Zitner and the late Louis (Rose) Zitner and sister-in-law of the late Phillip and Annie Shaffer. She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews and all who knew her. The family expresses its heartfelt appreciation and is forever indebted to her exceptionally devoted and compassionate caregiver, Hermy Tabobo. Also special thanks to caregiver Norma Orbita for her kindness and dedication. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. on Wednesday April 12, at 11:30 a.m. Burial at Chevra Shaas Adath Jeshurun Hadrath Kodesh Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Due to the advent of Passover, Shiva will end on Wednesday afternoon. In honor of her memory, donations can be made to the "Tillie Shaffer Israel Scholarship Fund" c/o Hadassah-Wizo, 933-8461. A woman of great personal courage, conviction and generosity, she blazed many trails throughout her lifetime and will remain in our hearts forever. |
