GITNICK, Bernard (Bernie) Peacefully, on Monday, December 5, 2011. Beloved husband and best friend of Natalie Lecker for fifty-seven years. Son of the late Harry and the late Clara Gitnick. Exceptional, loving and devoted father and father-in-law of Larry and Bonnie, Andrea and Bill Banner, Randi and Denis Kurdi. Cherished "Papa" of Harrison and Lauren Banner, Brandon Banner, and Jaclyn Banner. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Fran and Burt Eisenberg, and brother-in-law of Marvin and Carol Lecker, Norman and Bonnie Lecker. Bernie will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, many wonderful friends and all of those whose lives he touched. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Corona and Marilou, and the 6th floor staff at the Donald Berman Maimonides Geriatric Centre for their loving care and devotion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Bassarabier Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane.
