BENGUIGUI, Jacques Isaac It is with profound sadness that the family of Jacques Isaac Benguigui announces his peaceful passing at home, in his ninety-third year, on Monday, April 13, 2020. Born on March 20, 1928 in Larache, Morocco, Jacques immigrated to Canada in 1956. An incredibly determined, charismatic, and brilliant man, Jacques was revered in the optical industry and had a great impact on the lives of many. Beloved husband and soulmate of Lucy Brouillard for fifty-one years. Devoted father and father-in-law of Pascale Delhaye, Yaël Benguigui and Adrian Maas, and Corinne Benguigui. Cherished and adoring Grand'Papa of Philip, Ryan, and Alexander Caplan; Chloë, Vivian, and Sabine Maas; Gaby and Benjamin Levy. Jacques will be fondly remembered by Jonathan Caplan and Boaz Levy. Dear brother of Esther and Bonheur, Jacques was predeceased by his other siblings Salomon, David, Jacob, Rachel, Luna, and Elias. Jacques will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, family and many friends. Special thanks to the many wonderful, kind, and loving caregivers who eased his transition. A private service will take place, and a memorial will be held at a later date.
