STERN, Phyllis (nee Kahne) Peacefully, with dignity and courage, surrounded by her adoring family, on Sunday, June 10, 2012. Wife, soulmate and best friend of Bernie for forty-eight years. Cherished and loving mother of Lara (Don), Meira (Mike), and Michael (Marcie). Adored and doting Gramma of Ella, Molly, Justin, Ezra, Owen, and Sayde. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Beverly (Fernando), Gary, and Evie (Joe). Devoted aunt of Michael, Stuart, Robert, Lisa, Julie, and Eli. Best friend to so many. We have learned so much from her wisdom. Her courage, selflessness, and acceptance, especially over the past four years, inspired us all. She maintained her strength, independence, and sense of humour throughout. Her beauty, love, and sense of calm will always be with us. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, June 13 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Baron de Hirsch Cemetery, de la Savane.
