TRACHTENBERG, Hyman Peacefully in his ninety-second year, on Friday, April 15, 2011. Husband of the late Freida Berger and the late Bernice Mechanic. Beloved father and father-in-law of Linda and Earl Cohen, Dr. John and Jane Trachtenberg of Toronto, Elaine and Earl Povitz. Cherished "Papa" of Catherine and Jeremie Verdene, Dr. Matthew and Julie Cohen; Franklin Trachtenberg, Lianne Trachtenberg; Richard Povitz, Lauren Povitz; Shaun and Kurt Sarno. Proud "Great-Papa" of Tea and Reese Verdene; Leo Cohen; Noah Sarno. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Ida and the late Ben Millman, Mary and Leonard Cordes, and brother-in-law of the late Fanny and the late Louis Engler, the late Abe and the late Freda Berger, the late Samuel E. and the late Jeannette Berger. Sadly mourned by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special thanks to Mirna and Tessie for their exceptional care and devotion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, April 17 at 12 noon. Burial at the Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem Congregation Cemetery, Tifereth Jerusalem Section, de la Savane. Shiva at his daughter Linda's home. Due to the festival of Passover, shiva ends Monday, April 18, at 12 noon.
