DEBORAH LOUISE OSTREGA 1947 - 2008 Debby passed away February 21, 2008 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Though her life was short in years, it was full of love, fun and adventure. She was born in Lakewood, New Jersey, daughter of Florence Goldsmith and the late Arnold Waldholz and sister to Michael, Elysa, Sharen and David and cherished granddaughter to the late Esther and Morris Goldsmith. Her volunteer spirit led her to Israel in 1967 where she met her soul mate Allan, from Canada. After they were married she made her home in Montreal where she had two wonderful children, Tamar and Joshua. Deborah worked as a phlebotomist with her loved doctors and co-workers where her gentle human touch gave comfort to all who knew her. She was a beautiful person physically and deep inside. Her main concern was for the well-being of others before herself. She surrounded herself with wonderful friends who she loved like family. Her family grew with the addition of her son-in-law Monte and her daughter-in-law Chelsea and four beautiful grandchildren, Charly, Dean, Marlee and Sophie whom she loved more than life itself. Her black curly hair was her signature look. Everyone who had the privilege to know her, loved the kindness and smile of this elegant, classy and dignified lady. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and all who knew her. We give special thanks to the entire oncology staff of the Jewish General Hospital especially Robyn and Dr. Melnychuk as well as the staff of 8NW for their wonderful care and compassion. Funeral Service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean Talon W. on Sunday, February 24 at 12 noon. It was a wonderful life. Her spirit is everlasting, her love will never be forgotten and she will remain in our hearts forever. |
