PETER NADOR Peacefully, at home in Ottawa, on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at the age of 73. He was loved by his partner Marietta, his sister Julie (Nick Bauer), his daughters Anita and Sue (John Norris), grandsons Jake and Micah, his first wife Katalin, and many, many close family. Peter lived and died with passion. He said "happiness comes in different wrappings", and that the last year was a gift of love from his family and friends that made his battle with pancreatic cancer a fight worth fighting. Peter led a colorful life. He escaped from Hungary in 1957, built an excellent life in Canada, and traveled to every part of the world in a successful career in information technology. He was full of stories, and had a brilliant and insatiably curious mind. To the end, he was consumed, as he had been his whole life, with interests that included art, music, politics, and sports. He devoted the same intense focus to solving complex computer problems, analyzing his grandsons soccer games, and re-wiring the cottage. He will be missed but never forgotten. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. on Thursday, June 8 at 2:30 p.m. Burial at the New Memorial Park Cemetery, de la Savane. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Palliative Care Outreach Program, (613) 723-1184. |
