AIZYK MAIDENBAUM On December 17, Aizyk Maidenbaum passed away peacefully, in his one-hundredth year, in the embrace of his beloved wife, Merke. Funeral took place from Paperman & Sons on December 20, 2006. His longevity was due to his indomitable spirit, his tenacious will and his great sixty-five year love affair with his wife. They shared love, friendship, respect: they remained united, strong and devoted throughout. His gentle soul and fine character guided his precious only child, Raizeleh. He was a steadfast brother-in-law to Freda and the late Sam Wine. He was very proud of his Israeli family: nephew Yosef, niece Varda, their children and grandchildren. He shared a special bond with his great-niece Anat. His dear nieces Helen, Raya, Tanya, nephew Marik and their families will miss him. The Popielniks became part of his family: cherished friends Fella and the late Jerry, and honorary grandchildren, Rena and Debi. Even though he survived and witnessed the basest ugliness of human kind during the Holocaust, he remained a "mensch" with dignity, integrity, decency and optimism. He loved life - he appreciated every moment. It was a privilege to know him. His memory will remain a beacon to us. With tears, we say good-bye, Aizyk. Yours was a life well lived! |
