HAYES, Barbara Helen. (1963-2008). After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Barbara passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2008. Beloved mother of Annie to whom Barbara devoted her whole life and all her love. Treasured daughter and step-daughter of Lucy Pomeranz and Stefano Tartaglia. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Kevin and Pam Hayes. Special aunt of Joshua, Lindsay and Jillian Hayes. Barbara was a loyal and devoted friend to numerous families and neighbors on Merrimac and at Hebrew Academy High School. Barbara dedicated and committed her life and energies to Annie and to ensuring Annie's happiness. This will be her legacy. The family would like to thank the "angels", the devoted nursing staff, volunteers and secretaries of the 8th floor Oncology Department of the Segal Cancer Centre at the Jewish General Hospital. A very special thank you to a dedicated professional, Marie-France with whom Barbara developed a close relationship throughout her treatment. Thank you to Drs. Francois Patenaude and David Melnychuk of the Jewish General Hospital and the staff of the CSSS Cavendish. Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean Talon W. on Thursday, February 21 at 1 p.m. Burial at the New Memorial Park Cemetery, De La Savane. Shiva at 5781 Fleet Rd., Hampstead.
