MAX FRIEDMAN Passed away peacefully, on Monday, December 12, 2011, at the age of eighty-six. Devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. Nothing for him was impossible. Max will be sadly mourned and lovingly remembered by his wife Adele, his sons, Alex and Perry, daughter-in-law, Jennifer; his grandchildren, Zachary, Josephine, Joshua, Sage, and June; his brother- and sister-in-law, Issie and Eileen Burbela; nieces, Heidi and Marni, and nephew, Daniel. He will be greatly missed by his devoted caregivers, Benjamin and Edna; as well as by his friends and business associates. Although he had a very hard life in the beginning -- surviving concentration camp in Poland at a young age, and losing most of his family to the Nazis -- Max was always a fighter. He built a successful life and living for himself and his family in the construction business. Generous with all, he was a strong supporter of Israel and the Jewish community. Max loved to laugh, tell stories and kibbitz, and keep up with the all the news of the world. Despite all the scars of his life, he savoured life, and fought until the end. We will remember him always. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, December 14 at 12 noon. Burial at the Memorial Park Cemetery, de la Savane.
