SCHMIALI, (Smiley) Sam A HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR With dignity, on Friday, November 22, 2019. Beloved husband of Rose Zimmerman and the late Beatrice Reich. Most loving and devoted father and father-in-law of Elaine and Isaac Silberman, Debbie (Smiley) and Harvey Segal. Cherished Zaida of Tovah and Alex Landa, Yaacov Silberman and Yenhoa Ching, Dudie and Rena Silberman, Aharon Silberman and Dafna Wajszilber; Aryelle Segal, Laura Segal and fiance Jonathan Mohan. Much loved "Big Zaida" of Rivky, Yosef, Sromo and Daniel Landa; Winter, Light and Jubilee Silberching, Gemma Silberman; Clara Silberman. Predeceased by his mother and siblings who perished in the Holocaust. Heartfelt gratitude to Veronica, Allyn, Anna and the staff of 3 South at the Donald Berman Maimonides Geriatric Centre for their care and devotion. Special thanks to Yan Zhao for her kindheartedness and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on Sunday, November 24 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Montreal Workers' Circle Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at his daughter Elaine's home.
