MESSER, Genia (nee Icek). Peacefully, on Monday, June 23, 2008, in her ninety-ninth year. Beloved wife of the late Sam. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Miriam and Michael Piafsky, Natalie and Howard Morganstein. Cherished Bubby of Howard and Tina Piafsky, Heidi Perlman, Lynne and Jonathan Greer; Jill and Marc Kimmel, Stephen Morganstein. Great-grandmother of Kelly and Victoria Perlman; Jake, Benjamin and Bella Piafsky; Jamie, Olivia and Ethan Kimmel; Sydney and Charlotte Greer. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Wolf and Esther Nitka of Israel, the late Rose and the late David Besser, the late Eva and the late Morris Munn, and sister-in-law of Sophie and the late Louis Toporek, the late Moishe and the late Malka Messer of Israel, the late Ida Litwak, the late Freda and the late Schmerl Witkowski of Israel. A very special thank you to her caregivers Faigie and Sarah for their loving care and compassion, and the staff of 4C at the Jewish Eldercare Centre for their kindness and devotion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. on Wednesday, June 25 at 2 p.m. Burial at the Montreal Worker's Circle Association Cemetery, de la Savane.
