SHAFFER, Vivian It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful Viv in Vancouver, B.C., on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. Devoted wife of Dr. Julius Wroblewski. Cherished sister and sister-in-law of Dr. Gloria and Allan Tannenbaum, Elaine and Dr. Michael Malus, and Brenda Shaffer; and sister-in-law of Thomas and Junnaa Wroblewski. Daughter of the late Tillie and the late Max Shaffer. Adored aunt of Elyse Tannenbaum and Leonard Seidman, Rhonda Tannenbaum and Ian Lipton, Caroline Tannenbaum, Dr. Beth Tannenbaum and Lee Wise; Dr. Eli and Dr. Natalie Malus, Shem and Elena Malus. Loving great-aunt of seven. Vivian's legacy will not be measured simply by what she accomplished, but rather by the quiet and supremely kind way she touched those around her. Her life was not defined by material things, but by the relationships she nurtured and treasured. Her rare combination of humility, positivity and acceptance of others drew so many individuals into her life: it was an honour and privilege to know her. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. Graveside service on Sunday, August 25 at 4:00 p.m., at the Machziki Hadat Congregation Cemetery, (D6) de la Savane, first gate, close to Victoria, left on Row D. In keeping with Vivian's wishes, there will be no Shiva.
