SIMCO, Sophie (nee Pervin) Peacefully in Montreal, on Sunday, October 6, 2013 in her ninety-ninth year. Beloved wife of the late Moe. Devoted mother of Robert Simco (Helen), Roni Simco Gerstel (David), Stephen Simco (Lila), and Charles Simco (Pamela). Beloved grandmother of Michael Gerstel (Lauren), Benjamin Simco, Russell Simco, Lauren Mary Fan Gerstel, Katie Simco, Lucie Simco and Johanna Simco. Sophie was predeceased by her siblings Michael (Bunny), Joe (Effie), Harris (Sarah), Hy, and Tim Pervin. She will be warmly remembered by her sister-in-law Ruth Simcoe and her many nieces, nephews and friends. Sincere thanks to Jennifer and her team: Sylvia, Yvonne and Ueth for their care, devotion and for keeping Sophie comfortable, safe and happy. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. West, Montreal on Wednesday, October 9th at 3:00 p.m. Burial at the Shomrim Laboker Congregation, Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at 5551 Robinson Avenue, Cote St. Luc; on Wednesday following burial, Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice. In good humour and cracking jokes to the end, Sophie will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her wonderful cooking and baking, and her love of adventure and of life. |
