WEIGENSBERG, Mollie (nee Spunt) 1915-2009 Devoted and forever loving spouse of the late Frank. Adoring daughter of the late Isadore and the late Rebecca Rudinski. Mollie was the loving big sister to her late brothers, Norman and Seymour, and she loved their wives and children and all of her neices and nephews dearly. Growing up a teenager during the Great Depression, Mollie absorbed the skills of self-reliance, campassion and discipline - skills that guided her for the rest of her life. Sure of her abilities yet self-effacing, she accepted herself and all of those around her. A loyal and life-long friend, Mollie was one of an inseparable trio, along with late friends Ettie and Gertie, with whom she loved to play Mah Jong and just be. Mollie, who her nephews and niece, Howard, Trevor and Judy, called "cool," is survived by her son, Jeffrey, and her grand-daughter, Francesca. Mollie was compassionate and courageous; a fearless, self-sacrificing and nurturing Ma; and a loving and proud Bubbie. You kicked butt, Mollie. Funeral service took place from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday April 19, at 10 a.m. Burial at the Montefiore Protective Association Cemetery, de la Savane. Donations in her memory may be made to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514)340-8251. |
