KOHN, Mary (Marsha) (Nee Motte) November 11, 1923 – August 8, 2016 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our family's matriarch, Mary (Marsha) Kohn, who died peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2016, in Montreal at the age of ninety-two. Beloved daughter of the late Lipa Motte and the late Frimet (Becker). Devoted wife of the late David Kohn. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Vickie and Stephen Silver, and Louis and Lysette Kohn. Cherished Bubby of Robert and Karen Silver, Jennifer Silver, Julie and Andrew Davis, Melissa and Jamie Frost, and Jonathan Kohn and Lilah Jaffee. A special Great Bubby to Serena, Jacob, Dylan, Matthew, and Mia. Sole survivor of her family: her brother Naftuleh, her sisters Rachel and Rivkah, perished in the Holocaust along with her parents. The family would like to thank the wonderful team of the Emergency Department at St. Mary's Hospital for their care and compassion. Special thanks to the staff at the Steger Residence and Personal Touch Nursing Services. The family would also like to thank Dr. Richard Sheppard (JGH) for his excellent care and compassion over many years. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon Street W., Montreal, on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Burial at the Montreal Workers' Circle Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at 1 Wood Avenue, Westmount, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday and Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to the Giant Steps Foundation, (514) 935-1911. |
