EDELBERG, Irving Peacefully, at home, on Monday, February 16, 2015, in his 103rd year. Husband of the late Frances Long. Beloved father and father-in-law of Paula and David Schneider, Susan Kahlenberg. Cherished Grandpa of Jonathan and Michelle Lerner, Nadine Lerner; Joy Kahlenberg. Proud great-grandfather of Matthew, Josh and Olivia Lerner; Tess Lerner-Brunel. Predeceased by his siblings and their spouses, Harry and Anne, Norman and Ruth, Bill and Sophie Edelberg, Fagie Clapoff, Ben and Zelda Edelberg; and by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rose and Ben Nadler, Blema (Susie) and Sam Gazin. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Irving was one of the last living "big four" football players, having played for the Montreal Wheelers and Indians, the predecessors of the Montreal Alouettes. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, February 18 at 12:15 p.m. Burial at the Shomrim Laboker Congregation Cemetery, Tifereth Israel Section, de la Savane.
