BROWNSTEIN, Katherine (nee Bloom) March 29, 1911 - August 15, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful Kate on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at the age of ninety-eight. Beloved wife of the late Sydney Newman and the late Al Brownstein. Proud and loving mother of Ellie Baron, Elaine Wellman, and the late Merle Newman, and mother-in-law of Arnie Baron. Cherished Nanny of Jennifer and Michael Silver, Staci and Jeff Mazliach, Michele and Eric Dolman, Jill and Ryan Negri, Anthony and Sandy Baron, Rowena and Scott Intrabartolo, Erica and Jeff Kline, the late Marcy Silverberg and the late Steven Silverberg. "Great Nanny Kate" to Andrew and Erin Silver, Jessie and Emily Dolman, David Intrabartolo, Lindsay and Brett Mazliach, Elle and Luca Negri, and Avery Kline. Predeceased by her dear sisters, Ida, Sara, Harriet, Ruth, Helen and Florence. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Precious relative of Stephen Goodman. Thank you to Wanda. Her dog Toya Lily Rose will miss her very much. Graveside service on Wednesday, August 19 at 12 p.m., at the Shomrim Laboker Congregation Cemetery, Tifereth Israel Section, de la Savane.
