In her ninety-first year, on Thursday, October 20, 2011. Zelda is now with her beloved husband, Norman and their cherished firstborn, Aileen Tenenbaum. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Leona and Bernie Ship, Ben-Ami and Tina Tenenbaum, Lotte and Philip Manel, Sheryl and Ervin Weinberger. She delighted in her beautiful grandchildren, Harold and Keren Ship, Donna and Jeff Bondy, Danny and Jessica Ship; Laurence Tenenbaum, Alisa and Randy Levitt; Jason and Shari Manel, Alison Manel, Mark Manel; Ian Weinberger and Uri Weinberger; and great-grandchildren, Chananya Ship, William and Lily Bondy, Shivam Ship, Maya and Jonah Manel. They were inspired by her exceptional love of life, her stories and her wisdom. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Leah and the late Ben Schwam, Miriam and the late Fred Samuels. Predeceased by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Beynush and Taybe Tanenbaum, Rivka and Solomon Reichstein, Harry and Lilly Tannenbaum. Zelda will be sadly missed by her devoted nieces, nephews, family and friends. A generous and open-hearted spirit, she lit up a room with her warmth, humour and elegance. At The Waldorf, she was known for her enthusiasm, wisdom and participation, and will be missed by all. Special thanks to Dr. Caroline Michel and the team of the Heart Function Clinic at the Jewish General Hospital, to her caregivers, Charmaine, Mary and Patricia, and to the staff at The Waldorf for their excellent care and compassion. Funeral Service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, October 23 at 2 p.m. Burial at the Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem Congregation Cemetery, Kehal Yeshurin Section, de la Savane.
