ENGEL, Sydney
On Friday, August 24, 2012, in his ninety-fourth year. Beloved husband of the late Bertha Rayner. Devoted father and father-in-law of David and Josie Engel, Frema Engel and Miguel Lecman. Cherished grandfather of Avra and Allen Ratner, and Jodi Engel. Proud "Big Zaida" of Samantha Covens and Justin Ratner. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Myer and Shirley Engel, the late Bella and the late Sidney Tansky, and the late Isaac Engel. Brother-in-law of Phillippa and Leon Rubinfeld, Jackie and Sam Stelman, the late Dorothy and the late Hymie Wisenthal, Carmela and the late Leslie Rayner, and the late Bob Rayner. Sydney will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special thanks to the staff of 6 North at the Jewish General Hospital for their care, kindness and devotion, as well as to the staff of The Waldorf Residence. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Monday, August 27 at 4 p.m. Burial at the Adath Israel Poale Zedek Anshei Ozeroff Congregation Cemetery, Poale Zedek Section, de la Savane.
