COGAN, Hyman David
1921 - 2016
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hy, just shy of his 95th birthday. Predeceased by his beloved soul-mate Sylvia Granner. He leaves behind his adoring children and children-in-law Maxine and Harvey, Fern and Prosper, and Michael. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer and Andre, Alisa, Derek and Vanessa, and his two little great-granddaughters Sofia and Lydia. Predeceased by his dear siblings Claire and Ben Gittelman, Marcus and Doris Cogan, Irwin and Jean Cogan, Sarah and Dave Indaig. Brother-in-law of Sammy and Freda Granner, and predeceased by Fannie and Frank Strolovitch, Benny and Shirley, and Gerald Granner. He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to his caregivers who watched over him the last couple of years and to whom he referred as his "angels". Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W. on Thursday, January 7 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Yishitzer Young Men's Cemetery, de la Savane. Hy was a kind, gentle and loving man, who had a warm smile for everyone he encountered, and a memorable hand shake no one could forget. |
