STERN, Norma Elizabeth (Nee Barnett)
1931-2011
Passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at Mount Sinai Hospital, following a courageous battle with COPD. Beloved wife of the late David Stern. Survived by her five loving children, Sharon, Maureen, Morris, Gary and Ronnie; sons-in-law, Andrew and Lenny, and daughter-in-law, Kerry; and adorable grandchildren, Carolyn, Kylar, Kaden and Tehya. A heartfelt thank you to Drs. Benaim and Levitz, who went above and beyond the call of duty; and to the entire staff at Mount Sinai Hospital for their love and care. To the true angels: Desiree, Mary, Maggie, Lynn, Adela and Cecilia - thank you for your endless compassion, empathy and care. Norma was a stunning fashion model, a brilliant bookkeeper, a charming retailer, and the best friend you could ever have; but more than anything, she was a mother who shared her love of life, laughter and character-building moments with her children and everyone close to her. She will be deeply missed and loved forever. Life will not be the same without her. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on Sunday, November 13 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Baron de Hirsch Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva to be announced.
