SELICK, David Herman
On Friday, September 14, 2012. Born on March 13, 1918 to parents Pearl and Benjamin Selick, in Saint John, N.B., he resided in Place Kensington, Montreal. He was predeceased by his sisters Mary and Helen and brother Morris. He is survived by two sisters Ida Sussman and Jean Zlatin and a number of nieces and nephews in Ontario, Nova Scotia and Ohio. David joined the Royal Canadian Navy in the 1940's during wartime. Upon his return he pursued a diverse and successful career in sales. Interaction with people was a strength which he thrived upon. David had a strong interest in business and their successes and enjoyed reading and talking about financial, political, and philosophical matters. Yet, he was an artist at heart, painting and playing the violin. He was a beacon of honesty and straight forwardness. David made it a long way from the tracks and felt he had obtained an MBA of Life. Graveside service on Sunday, September 16, at 11:00 a.m., at the Veteran's Field of Remembrance Cemetery, de la Savane. Due to the advent of Rosh Hashanah, there will be no Shiva. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Montreal General Hospital Foundation, (514) 934-8230, or to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251. Arrangements entrusted to Paperman & Sons. |
