ABRAMOVITCH, Harry. Suddenly at his home at the age of ninety-five on Friday, June 18, 2004. Harry lived a full and long life. Beloved by those who knew him, a kind and decent man. First born son of the late Louis and the late Sosia Abramovitch. Husband of the late Ethel Leah Schacter. Brother of Joan Abbey, Tillie Shapiro, Sam Abramovitch and his wife Michele Drouin and the late Lilian Taylor. Father of Lavy, Ilana and Henry. Father-in-law of Iva. Grandfather of Ella, Tamara, Rachel, Hillel of Jerusalem. Uncle of Dr. Martin Shapiro, Laurie Lee, Vincent Martineau, Yzabelle Martineau, Cora Toolan, Vicki Schacter, the late Dr. Henry Schacter, the late Barry Schacter, and Honey Fox Moscowitz, Abraham Fox, Joe Fox, Honey Vickie Schacter, Ayala Sher, and all their families. Deep appreciation to his devoted caregivers especially Sheila Burnham. Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean Talon West on Wednesday, June 23 at 1 p.m. Burial at the Congregation Anshei Ukraina Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at his home, 5212 Westbury through Sunday noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Abramovitch Scholarship Fund for Needy Students" C/O Canadian Friends of Hebrew University of Jerusalem, 932-2133 or to your favorite charity.
