VEREBES, Robert Surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. Beloved husband of Eva for almost sixty years. Loving father and father-in-law of Lucy and Stewart Shapiro, Tom and Nicole Verebes. Cherished Grandfather of Adam, and Justin Shapiro; Rubin, Sam, and Elisha Verebes. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Andras and Jutka. He will be greatly missed by his nephews, cousins, family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Lafontaine, Lucie Lachance of the Montreal Neurological Institute, all the staff of the Mount Sinai Hospital and The Waldorf for their wonderful care. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on Wednesday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Hebrew Sick Benefit Association Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at his home, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2 to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre, (514) 345-2605. He was a violist with The Montreal Symphony Orchestra for forty years, founder and participant of several chamber music ensembles, a prolific soloist, recording artist and an esteemed professor of music at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montreal. |
