BORTS, Maurice Peacefully and with dignity in his seventy-fifth year, after a courageous battle, on Friday, August 22, 2014, with Myra Wagner, his beloved wife of thirty-one years by his side. Cherished and devoted step-father of Stephanie and Nir Stanietzky, and Suzanne and Franklin Rubinstein. Proud and loving Zaida of Jacob, Rachel, David, Sydney, and Jamie. Devoted son of the late Lily and the late Hyman Borts. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Harold and Judy Borts, Barbara and Richard Manners, Phyllis and Jim Bowers; and brother-in-law of Joyce and Jerry Cohen. Maurice will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews Stephanie, Joshua, Annie, Rebecca, Adam, Jackie, Michael, and Laurie. He will be sadly missed by his many cherished friends. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to his loving caregivers as well as the medical team who cared for him at home. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., Montreal, on Monday, August 25, at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Shomrim Laboker Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane.
