UNGAR, Irene Passed away in Toronto, on Sunday, October 20, 2013. Irene was the cherished darling daughter of the late Tammy Rosenberg Ungar and the late Joseph Ungar, and the dear devoted sister of the late Sandra Kalichman. Irene was a beloved cousin and niece and a generous loving fun, friend to many, as well as the loving owner of Izzy, her twelve year old Senegal Parrot since he was twelve weeks old. Irene was born in Montreal on November 20, 1954 and was a long-time resident of Toronto. She earned her BFA degree at Concordia University, her MFA from Columbia University and her BED at University of Toronto. Irene was an Artist and a Teacher. She was passionate about her teaching and adored her students as they did her in return. Irene and her wonderful gentle kind spirit coupled with her unique sense of humour will be missed by all those who were lucky enough to know her. Many thanks to Dr. Ronald Burkes at Mount Sinai Hospital and Dr. Leighl at Princess Margaret Hospital and to all their very kind staff.
