MEDICOFF, Melanie Ellen. (June 4, 1965 - March 28, 2007). With unfathomable courage, with steadfast determination beyond compare, she has lived. With gallant dignity and driven clarity for life, at forty-one years old, she has died. Heaven, watch out! In a most purpose-driven fight with cancer, Melanie reached for the stars and, has finally earned her wings. She leaves a legacy of love and true strength of mind as the beloved wife of her dedicated husband, Brian Olner, and step-mom in joy, of Jessica and Amanda. As her youngest cherished daughter, Melanie honoured and adored her loving mother, Bunny (Beverly) Pitzele, who, with deep love and admiration, walked every step along side her daughter. In her passing, Melanie now joins her father, the late Dave Medicoff (Matthews) and her late grandparents, Abe and Isabel Arick, and Max and Edith Medicoff in the immortal arms of G-d. Melanie will forever remain the admired and beloved sister of The Rev'd. Jody Medicoff, Sheryl Ann Medicoff, treasured brothers Stuart and Jan (Matthews) and her partner in crime, and angel on earth, Elana Medicoff (Brad Bouchard). Her adored nephew and niece, Gene and Lucy Bouchard were the source of profound joy and pride in Melanie's life; she loved them as her own. Her cherished step-grandbabies, Skyler and Peyton will grow up knowing the pleasure they brought to her. Melanie's closest friends Peter and Randy were cherished every moment. Melanie leaves her canine children, Buddy, Patty and Trooper and the collection of felines with whom she and Brian willingly share their home. We wish deeply to extend our sincere and respected gratitude to Dr. Melnychuk, Dr. Fukesman, Dr. Chang, Bernadette, Gwen, Albert and Andrew, Dina, Tee, Francine and Linda, along with the teams at the Cancer Centre and Palliative Unit of the Jewish General Hospital and the Pointe Claire CLSC.
