Peacefully in Montreal, on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, after courageously battling with COVID-19 and underlying dementia, at the age of ninety-one. Daughter of the late Ettie (Groberman) and the late Hyman Lerner. Loving, giving and devoted mother of Allan (Rotman) and Audrey (Feiner). Treasured mother-in-law of Gilda (Shemie) and Andrew (Feiner). Cherished grandmother of Nancy (David), Joelle, Erica (Ellen) Scott, and adored great-grandchild, Leah. Beloved sister of Yafa Lerner (Bunny) and Isidore Lerner (Issie). She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Fran was an extraordinary woman; a force of nature. Known as Mrs. Rotman, she will forever be remembered by the elementary, high school students, parents, teachers and staffs whose lives she touched. Monkland Village will never be the same without Fran’s bright, delightful, and engaging personality. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Susan Moran, Fran’s dear companion and faithful caregiver. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Alexandra Rubin, doctors, nurses and aides on Kastner, Unit 3 at the Donald Berman Jewish Eldercare. Their kindness, perseverance and professionalism were especially appreciated during the COVID-19. Due to the current public health restrictions, a small graveside funeral has been arranged for immediate family and friends. The private Shiva arrangements are now in progress and a celebration of life will be announced at a future date when the timing is appropriate. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Fran’s memory may be made to the COVID-19 Fund c/o the Jewish Hospital of Hope Eldercare Foundation, (514) 738-4500, ext. 2124 https://donaldbermanjecdonations.myevent.com/3/donate.htm or to the charity of your choice. |
