ATLAS, Sydney Peacefully, surrounded by his family, in his 97th year on Thursday, September 27, 2018. Loving husband of the late Nettie Faierman. Adored companion of the late Dora Kaufman. Beloved father and father-in-law of Rhonda Atlas-Snell and John Snell of Nanaimo, BC, Nadine Atlas and the late Itzick Sarig. Predeceased by his siblings and their spouses, Ruth and Hymie Davidson, Sarah and Bucky Bick, Moe and Debbie Atlas. Dear brother-in-law of Eileen and the late Eddie Steinberg, Bess and the late Sam Faierman, the late Soryl and the late Sam Pokrass. He will be dearly missed by his nephews, nieces, godson and cousins, all of whom he cared for deeply. Papa Syd will be remembered with love by Dora's children, Rosemary and Dr. Stephen Caplan, Maureen and Joel Richler, and by their children and grandchildren. Special thanks to Rhonda and Monty for their exceptional care and devotion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, September 30 at 12:00 noon.
