It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maklouf Amar on Tuesday April 28, 2020, devoted son of the late Yehuda Amar and the late Mazaltob Hassine, dear brother of Moses, Gabriel and David Amar, of the late Nessim Amar z''l , the man with the golden voice who died in 1954, of the late Rebecca Mamane z''l, the late Miriam Azerad z''l, the late Rachel Ederhy z''l, the late Marguerite Dery z''l and the late Messodi Amar z''l, the beloved uncle of David, Michel, Yom, Maurice, the late Joseph z''l, the late Haim z''l, the late Abraham z''l, and the late Refael Mamane, Laurette Levadi , the late Simone Iteld z''l, Rene Mamane, Colette Miska, Esther Blatt; David, Cotta, Simone and Eliane Azerad; Moise, Raphael, Joseph and Gilbert Edery. Maklouf was loved a lot by Rene Amar and Suzanne Mamane, and he adored his younger brother David, as well as his nephew David Mamane, who accompanied him all his life. He will be greatly missed by the children of his sisters, Marguerite and Messodi, who live in France, as well as by his grand-nephews and grand-nieces. Maklouf was descended from a large line of Rabbis from Morocco. Rav David Hassine, who wrote Tehila Ledavid and Rav Mordechai Amar, one of the greatest dayan of Morocco. He was a very charming man who had a voice of Salim Halali, and he was an exceptional carpenter in Morocco. The family would like to thank everyone who helped them, in particular, Dr. Isabelle Julien, and to all of Maklouf's nephews who asked him. Special thanks to Laurent Amar and Raphael Edery who did everything to treat him in the hospital, and to his brother Gabriel, who supported him financially.
