GARBER, Carl Peacefully, at St. Anne de Bellevue Veteran's Hospital, on Saturday, October 29, 2011, after a heroic battle with cancer. Husband of the late Pauline Gershman. Loving father and father-in-law of Bryan and Dympna. Cherished grandfather of Paul. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Margo and the late Bill Woo, Doris and the late Sidney Garber, Fay and the late Irving Garber, the late Shirley and the late Carmel Dube. Carl will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. A veteran of World War II, he was a tireless worker for the rights of Veterans through his work with the Brigadier Frederick Kirsch Branch 97 of the Royal Canadian Legion. The family is grateful for the loving care he received from all of the staff at St. Anne's and at the Segal Cancer Center of the Jewish General Hospital. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, November 1 at 12 noon. Burial at the Independent Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane.
