NAT RAIDER It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nat Raider on Saturday, July 24, 2010, in his eightieth year, surrounded by his loving family. A famous musician once wrote, "Music is your own special feelings, your thoughts, and your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn". Nat Raider was such a man; one who performed all the many marvels of his amazing, joyous life for those who were so fortunate to be in his audience. Nat was an accomplished conductor, arranger, trumpet player and producer, and his was a vibrant, diverse, and successful career. His music, his generosity, and his engaging personality touched thousands in Montreal - and all over North America. Attending a society gala, a large corporate event, a wedding or a bar mitzvah often meant that you were entertained by The Nat Raider Orchestra. Well known and well respected as the Musical Director of the Montreal Forum, Nat accompanied, composed, and arranged for some of the most famous celebrity acts of our time. An active tennis player, avid golfer and, recently, a devoted bridge player, this was a man in tune with the love of being alive. Nat was in harmony with so many friends, family, and colleagues. He lived his life in the key of happiness. His song has ended... his beautiful music will play on forever.
