SCHECTER, Herbert (Herbie) Peacefully, on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Devoted father and father-in-law of Marla and Michael Howard, Stephen and Sandy (Swieca). Cherished Grandpa Herbie of Bryan, Rochelle and Daniel Stachurski, Mitchell, Amy, and Deanna. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Elliot and Sheila Schecter. Brother-in-law of David and Cecile Devere. Herbie will be sadly missed by Clarice, his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends, and by the Swieca family. Special thanks to Nurse Bertha and the 3rd Floor staff Kastner Pavilion, Jewish Eldercare Centre; Sharon for her care, kindness and devotion; and Drs. Emond, Bonnycastle, Ng Cheong, Goldman, and the staff of St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Friday, September 23 at 11 a.m. Burial at the Baron de Hirsch Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva private, daily from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Due to the advent of Rosh Hashana, shiva ends Wednesday, September 28.
