Obituary It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Hazdaï Elmoznino, who died peacefully and without suffering on January 3, 2026, at the age of 93. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Rachel, with whom he shared over sixty-five years of marriage. Father and father-in-law of Gad and Roselyne, as well as Michael and Marina. Proud grandfather of Olivier and Diana, Eric and Bonnie, Karine and Sean, and Jonathan. Proud great-grandfather of six-month-old Emma, whose presence brought him his greatest joy during the last three months of his illness. He also leaves to mourn his sister Denise and his brother-in-law Simon. Brother of the late Victoria and the late Albert, both predeceased by their respective spouses, the late Roger and the late Zari. He will also remain in the memory of many friends, nephews, nieces and other family members who deeply respected him and were inspired by him.

Hazdai was a teacher who left a lasting mark on the lives of countless students over the years. But above all, he was an artist -- a painter and sculptor -- whose works grace so many homes around the world. A gentle and reserved man, yet deeply strong, he was much loved by his friends and family.

The family wishes to thank and acknowledge the exceptional, compassionate and dedicated work of the nurses, attendants and doctors of the cardiology unit at the Jewish General Hospital.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon Street West. Interment will follow at Baron de Hirsch Cemetery in La Savane. The family will receive condolences at 5885 Marc-Chagall Avenue, PH22, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation – Cardiology: (514) 340-8251.
