Obituary | KIRSHNER, Helen (nee Salmanovitch) Surrounded by love and caring hands on Saturday, March 27, 2010. Predeceased by her two loves, Jack Kirshner and Joe Linetsky. Helen is the beloved mother of two fiercely adored daughters, Hope (Mark) and Janis (John). She will be remembered as the special Grammie of Erik, Richard (Angela) and Sara (Chris); a dear kid sister of her late brothers, Max (Molly), Louis (Rae), Joe (Ethel) and Sydney (Ethel); the favourite auntie - especially to those who considered her like a mother; and by the Kirshner family, her many cousins and friends. Helen's vivaciousness, independence, sense of humour and love of the arts will always stand out. We can keep Helen's memory alive by random acts of kindness, donating to those in need and by staying positive. Think of her when you hear a terrific joke, read about an astute, hard-working businesswoman, have a great restaurant meal or enjoy good chocolate. Deep gratitude to the amazing staff of Jewish Eldercare, Kastner 4th floor. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon W. on Thursday, April 1 at 1 p.m. Burial at New Memorial Cemetery, de la Savane. Contributions in her memory may be made to Jewish Eldercare Foundation (514) 738-4500 ext. 2125, or the Alzheimer's Society Day Centre, Lachine, (514) 369-0800. Helen meant the world to us and will be wholly missed. |
