We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Hanina Rabie at home, on Tuesday, January 20, 2021. Loving wife of the late Daniel. Devoted mother of Terry Evans (the late Harvey), Vera Rabie (Laurie Weinroth) and Ezra Rabie (Marilynn). Grandmother of Carlton, Stacy, Roxanne, Lisa, Justin and Joshua. Great-grandmother of Kira, Maya, Nathaniel, Zachary, Karina, Rosemary and Willow. Dear sister of the late Violette Shamash, Doreen Erani and Haim Mathalon. Daughter of the late Tefaha Rabie and the late Selman Mathalon. Like her late husband, Hanina enjoyed a special relationship with every member of the family and freely shared her deep love, her sense of humour, her fashion skills, her Iraqui Sephardic cooking, and telling each one they were her favourite. We all share precious memories of family gatherings at her table for Rosh Hashanah, Passover, and Friday nights. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 24.
