Peacefully, in her one hundred and fifth year, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. Wife of the late Naji Shahin. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Evette and Morris Mashaal, Claudette and the late Nouri Levy, Elise Dayan and the late Jimmy Shahin, Dr. Eddy and Yael Shahin, Dr. David and Eva Shahin. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Mary and the late Joseph Shahin, Daisy and the late Shoua Shahin, Elaine and the late Baruch Bekhor, Valentine Cohen, Ezra and Ilana Cohen, the late Aliza Cohen, the late Saleh and the late Toya Cohen, the late Morad Mahlab, the late Haron Mahlab, the late Sadhka and the late Madeleine Mahlab, the late Jacob and the late Violet Cohen; and sister-in-law of Evelyn and the late Anwar Shahin, Sylvia and the late Albert Shahin, Shoshana and the late Fouad Shahin, Dr. Nazim and the late Louise Shahin. Cherished "Mama Violette" of Michael Mashaal and Marla Cohen, Marina Mashaal; Edna Levy and Jacob Schreiber, Dr. Jacob and Yael Levy, Devorah Levy and Mark Levine; Andrea Shahin and Jack Ifrah, Dr. Jason Shahin and Dr. Jessica Stewart; Dr. Ilan Shahin and Dr. Tamara Hoppe, Annalie Shahin and Dr. Mark Floumanhaft, Moriel Shahin, the late Vicky Shahin; Dr. Jessica Elbaum and Brian Rosen, Kerry Elbaum, Emily Elbaum and Joshua Bilerman. Proud great-grandmother of thirty-three great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Violet will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. The family is forever grateful to Melita Uy, and Daryl Roldan for their exceptional care and devotion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, September 14 at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Spanish & Portuguese Congregation Cemetery, 1250 ch de la Forêt, Outremont.
