| Obituary | Peacefully on the 17th September 2025. Beloved wife of the late Sidney Kastner for sixty years, and partner of James Schacher for 6 years. Loving and devoted mother of Neri, Daphna and Gil Kastner and mother-in-law of Harvey Keitel and Andrea Diamant. Cherished grandmother of Julia, James and Ashley Kastner and Roman Keitel. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Jacob and Lola, Yitzchak, Viktor, René, Jonti, Judith, Monni. Dear sister-in-law of Evelyn and the late Arnold Kastner, and the late Murray Kastner. Aviva will be sadly missed by her family, many friends, and all those whose lives she touched. The family would like to thank Dr. Sarit Assouline, and her exceptional team for their dedication and hard work, Aviva was touched by their commitment and their warmth and kind approach to her care.
Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean Talon West, on Sunday, September 21st at 11 am. Burial at Congregation Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery, 1250 ch. de la Forêt. Shiva at Gil’s home. Donations in Aviva’s memory may be made to the Hematology Fund at the Foundation of the Jewish General Hospital at 514-340-8251. |
