Obituary Peacefully on Friday, January 23rd, 2026, at the age of 94. Loving husband of Roberta Sinai (née Baquis) for over 60 years. Devoted father of Marco Sinai and Daniela Sinai. Proud grandfather of Emanuel, Jacob, Philippe, and Maya. Dear brother of Aldo Sinai. He will be sorely missed by his niece Deborah Sinai, his nephew Simone Sinai, his wife Stefania Sciama, and their children Nathan and Noa Sinai. Roby will be fondly remembered by his cousins Lisette Sinai, Robert Sinai and Susie Schevill, Sandra Sinai, Mario Sinai and Helen Malkin. He will be remembered by Guy Cliche, Frances Unsworth, and Abigael Lisa Cohen.

Born in Milan, Italy, he moved his family to Montreal in 1980. Roby had a successful career as a businessman. Remembered for his zest for life, his good humour, generosity, honesty, and capacity for awe and wonder, as well as a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures in the company of his many dear friends. The family would like to thank all the caregivers who helped Roberta care for Roby at home for the last three and a half years, especially Gladys.

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon West, on Monday, January 26, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person may join the service via live stream. Burial at the Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery, 1250 chemin de la Forêt. Shiva at his home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Old Brewery Mission 514-866-6591, or to the charity of your choice.
