It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sylvia Wechsler Zeltzer on Sunday, May 9, 2021, at ninety-eight years young. Beloved wife of the late Bernard Zeltzer. Devoted mother of the late Eric Zeltzer. Daughter of the late Etty and the late Arthur Wechsler. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Henri and Lise Wechsler, Maurice and Shayla Wechsler. Adored and special aunt to Laurie Wechsler Rosenfeld and Sandy Wechsler (the late David Hendler). She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her niece Nathalie Wechsler, her nephews, Gary (Wendy), Arthur (Arielle) and Neil (Andrea), as well as by her great-nieces and great-nephews. Heartfelt gratitude to Wendy Fontellio for her devotion, tender care and companionship. Sylvia will be remembered by her friends and family as a wise, strong-willed and generous woman. She loved the arts, traveling, swimming, reading, and listening to opera. A woman of many accomplishments, Sylvia was the President of ORT, a bridge champion and spoke seven languages. She embodied her mantra, "I do not want to die stupid". Rest In Peace, our dear Aunt Sylvia, you succeeded at doing it all. Donations in her memory may be made to the Cancer Research Fund c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251. |
