| Obituary | Peacefully, at his home that he loved, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Beloved husband of Chubby (Evelyn) Taiger for sixty-seven years. Cherished father and father-in-law of Nancy and Harry Bloomfield, Elyse and Dany Battat, Andrea Tolchinsky-Meyers and Andy Meyers. Proud and loving Papa of Jon Bloomfield and Kimberly Marx Bloomfield, Andrew Bloomfield, James Bloomfield; Sarah Battat, Sophie Battat; Lily Meyers, and Nathan Meyers. Blessed to have met his one-month-old great-grandson Jordan Bloomfield. Son of the late Boris and the late Sarah Tolchinsky. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Roslyn and the late Al Schmeltzer, the late Nellie and the late Morris Glickman; and brother-in-law of Sheldon Taiger, the late Henza and the late Mort Koenig. Very special uncle to his many nieces and nephews and their families. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. Sincerest gratitude to his wonderful and loving caregivers Josephine Padayo, Avella Daniel, and Marites Justo for their unwavering devotion. Special thanks to Ligaya, Donna, Lucy and Hermie for their compassionate care. Funeral service form Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Friday, September 8 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Congregation Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery, 1250 Ch de la Forêt. Shiva at his home.
Hy was a self-made man, proud of the projects of Tolchinsky & Goodz and modest about his achievement as one of the premier architects in Montreal and throughout Canada. Devoted to his family, passionate about his work, and dedicated to his many lifelong friends. |
