Obituary It is with great sadness that the family of Maurice Wechsler announces his passing on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the age of ninety-six. Beloved husband of Shayla Roslyn Moskovitch. Loving father and father-in-law of Gary and Wendy Wechsler, Arthur and Arielle Wechsler, Neil and Andrea Wechsler. Most proud grandfather of Stuart and Lindsay, Lorne; Benjamin, and Laurence; Alexandra, and James; and great-grandfather of Cole and Charlotte. Son of the late Etty and the late Arthur. Brother and brother-in-law of the late Henri and the late Lise Wechsler, the late Sylvia and late Bernard Zeltzer. Maurice will be fondly remembered by his nieces, family, and friends with whom he had a special bond.

Maurice was the family patriarch and a role model to his three sons. A loving and devoted husband to his wife of sixty-nine years who was always by his side. His family gave him the most pride. Accomplished in his own right, he was a true gentleman – philanthropic and blessed with tremendous wisdom. It was never about him and always about those around him. He immigrated to Canada after having graduated Stanford University, joined his father and brother at Rayonese Textiles and built a successful business career.

Special thanks to Dr. Mark Lipman, Dr. Mark Trifiro, and Dr. David Langleben at the Jewish General Hospital and to Maurice’s incredible, kind, and loyal caregivers, Boyet, Astrid, Carol, Annabelle, and Sam. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, December 24 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Congregation Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery, 1250 ch. de la Forêt. Shiva to be announced.
